New Mums & Babies / Ngā Māmā Me Ngā Pēpi Hou
This is our founding service and is suitable for most māmā/kaitiaki and pēpi. Mums/caregivers and babies are supported by a loving and caring team of community volunteers close to their neighborhood. Volunteers are scheduled for two-hour shifts and come into the home to provide practical, emotional and social support, and respite. There is no charge for this service as all services are provided by our Mums4Mums valuable and appreciated volunteers. Our Regional Coordinators will make contact with the mum/caregiver and arrange an Intake at their home. Mums complete an Intake survey prior to commencing services.
Extra Care Support / Āta Tautoko
This service is provided to mums with multiples or mums struggling with extreme circumstances. They can qualify for the Home Care Support Payments from WINZ.
There is a fee for this service and you will need to fill out two forms.
Once signed off by your health professional, please forward to us by clicking the button below or at connect@mums4mums.org.nz with Home Care Assistance in the subject line.
Migrant Mums Support Service / Ngā Rātonga Tautoko Mō Ngā Māmā Manene
We know the challenges of being a new mum. Then you add that you have recently moved to a new country, city or town, and are still learning the language, the customs and where to find things, let alone connect with new friends and a support system.
This is a hybrid approach to working with our migrant mums as we couple it with our in-home support for new mums volunteers, online videos and one-on-one facilitation. When possible group activities with other migrant mums in your area are arranged.
Need urgent help? / Matawara Āwhina Whitawhita?
Our support is non-clinical and designed for parents with a mild to moderate decline in mental wellbeing. We are not a crisis service and do not have after-hours or weekend services.
